Management of Bacteriology Data Using WHONET Software
WHONET Online Training is a 10-day online program offered by the Data Management Unit of Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Reference Laboratory of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. The training is divided into basic and advanced levels. Participants are expected to initially acquire fundamental knowledge on the basic training. This primary level is intended for new users and can serve as a refresher course.
Learners are encouraged to further develop their skills by engaging in advanced analyses using the SaTScan software for cluster analysis and extracting local microbiology data from automated analyzers through BacLink. The advanced WHONET training covers broader utilization of the software, including data conversion and advanced configuration, to enhance users' proficiency.
All training activities take place online. Participants have access to prepared lecture videos and hands-on exercises focusing on the three main components of the software. The course materials will be available to participants throughout the entire course duration, with a designated day for a synchronous hands-on session conducted on an online platform.
[August 2023] HIV and other Transfusion and Transmissible Infections Testing Proficiency Training Workshop Full Course
The online training consists of lectures on the basic theories and guidelines in relation to blood screening of TTI. Demonstration for laboratory work will be provided in lieu of hands-on laboratory work. Skills will be checked through the provision of Proficiency Testing Panel for the participants to screen in their respective Blood Service Facilities. The participants will be graded through written practical examinations and the completion of the panel testing. Participants will be given a Certificate of Proficiency if they have passed a grade of 75% for their overall assessment. In case of failure, a Certificate of Attendance will be given.
(4) COMPETENCY BASED TRAINING ON THE DIAGNOSIS OF MALARIA PARASITES BY MICROSCOPY
The objective of the course is to continue build the capacity of medical technologists under the new normal condition (COVID-19) on the accurate and standardized methodology for malaria microscopy with principles on biosafety and good laboratory practices. The training also offers CPD units to Registered Medical Technologist

One of the key strategies on the Philippine National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2019-2023 includes strengthening surveillance and laboratory capacity. The training module is designed for the delivery of an online training workshop for the bacteriology laboratory professional in hospital who performs the antimicrobial susceptibility testing among aerobic bacteria and analyzes its data. It is designed to be flexible and can be tailored to suit specific aerobic bacteria for antimicrobial susceptibility testing. The training shall run for 20 hours under an external facilitator and all trainees are required to participate in online sessions or activities, pre and post assessment tasks.
Introduction to Science Communication
This is a short course about science communication.
[Pre-Registration Full Course] HIV and other TTIs Testing Proficiency Training Workshop
The online training consists of lectures on the basic theories and guidelines in relation to blood screening of TTI.
