Management of Bacteriology Data Using WHONET Software

WHONET Online Training is a 10-day online program offered by the Data Management Unit of Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Reference Laboratory of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. The training is divided into basic and advanced levels. Participants are expected to initially acquire fundamental knowledge on the basic training. This primary level is intended for new users and can serve as a refresher course.

Learners are encouraged to further develop their skills by engaging in advanced analyses using the SaTScan software for cluster analysis and extracting local microbiology data from automated analyzers through BacLink. The advanced WHONET training covers broader utilization of the software, including data conversion and advanced configuration, to enhance users' proficiency.

All training activities take place online. Participants have access to prepared lecture videos and hands-on exercises focusing on the three main components of the software. The course materials will be available to participants throughout the entire course duration, with a designated day for a synchronous hands-on session conducted on an online platform.
